First time I have ever been to the show. There were some interesting sights to see. Out of all the manufacturers there, Kia and Mercedes had the best swag. Kia was giving away mittens and Mercedes had some really neat, large magnets. I think Mercedes definitely had the best customer experience there.
First up, the very wiggly lift gate of a Chrysler Pacifica. Putting just a tiny bit of pressure on it, the entire thing wiggled. If it wiggles that much under slight pressure, what’s it going to do in an accident? I’m no automotive engineer, but it didn’t really instill me with confidence. I vaguely remember something about them cheaping out on tailgates in the past in the old Caravans. It seems like they haven’t learned.
Veloster N.
Kia Stinger. Everyone was busy oogling this one, when there was another red one less than 50 feet away.
Clearly the chassis engineers hate the airbox engineers (and mechancis). Want to replace the air filter? First, remove the plastic shroud, then remove the strut brace, then you can replace the air filter.
Rear seat room of a Mustang convertible. Probably only fine for parents who have children with no legs.
You could tell the clientelle that Chevy was trying to attract.
Rust on the truck above. Seriously.
Chevy Bolt. Pretty decent looking range (426 km? At least in theory.)
Old Miata
New Miata
Old Civic. Whoever did the restoration on this did an amazing job. It was seriously clean.
Ugly side skirts on an Accord plug-in hybrid. Ugly!
Subaru 360. Not for sale.
Car for drug dealers. (Or users?)
Rust on the motor mounts (?) of a brand new Chrysler 300.
Small foam blocks under the hood of the Chrysler 300. Is that seriously the best solution that they could think of to improve air flow?
Pricey.
Something about the rear end reminds me of a Chrysler Crossfire. And not in a good way.
Rear leg room in a Mercedes. Better than a Mustang, but not by much.
That’s a lot of money. I imagine depreciation on these is... brutal. This one was already sold.
We were guessing on the price of this car. Turns out we were both off by $75k or more.
Rear of a Jaguar. Pretty nice!
“Hey, it’s that constipated Acura!”
“Huh?”
“Yeah, the one that’s been coming out for the last 11 years.”
Mini had a different approach than foam blocks - a rubber seal. But at least have the common decency to run the hoses both under the seal. There’s no excuse for this kind of engineering. The throttle cable runs underneath, then 2 inches over, they run another huge hose over top. Silly!
More terrible rear leg room. I think this was on a Cadillac.
This isn’t so much of a rear seat as it is a leg-hold trap. We had to move the front seat forward so my friend could get his feet out.
It’s not just a hybrid... it’s an e-hybrid! You know, because regular hybrids aren’t... electric?

I only like the look of that old Honda and the Subaru...
I’ve got an 88' AMC Eagle that looks more comfortable than most of those cars. I mean, they’ve got like 600 or more hp than my car, but still.
Thanks for sharing some pics. I considered going but assumed I wouldn’t see much I’m interested in. How was the interior of that Civic? The outside looks factory new. Maybe nicer...

Thanks! I had never been before. I was saying to one of the guys I went with that I don’t think Honda or Toyota produces a single good looking vehicle, other than the FR-S.
The inside of that Civic was mint. Probably nicer than when it came out of the factory.

The wife and I were just in Marda Loop yesterday and parked her Juke across the street from a Toyota C-HR... Looks like an angular / aggressive Juke; was pretty ugly. I also do not care for the new civics, their backends are ridiculous.
Have any more pics of that old Civic or 360?

I don’t. I didn’t take too many pictures. Sorry. :(
